Decatur Presbyterian Church T-Shirt Design
In the process of restructuring around a new mission and bicentennial goal, Decatur Presbyterian Church wanted a T-shirt to help commemorate this time of shift, while inviting their entire community to play an active role in this work. The hope for this design was to visually represent the refocused mission and vision of Decatur Presbyterian Church, while being appealing and relevant to all of the groups and ministries of DPC, including the preschool, global village project school for refugee girls, and church members of all ages. Together we simplified the Bicentennial goal, “Every child of God- belonging, engaging, and being transformed,” to “You belong” for the front of the shirt, while focusing on engagement in the community on the back. I illustrated a tree which is prominent on their grounds and is used in their logo to image DPC’s rootedness in community. I also drew recognizable buildings and landmarks in Decatur, GA, to ground DPC in their particular context. The hands represent the hands of God holding DPC and its ministries, while also representing the hands of DPC embracing Decatur and beyond through their refocused mission.
