Since my aunt, LeeAnn Love, was diagnosed with celiac disease over eight years ago, she has been able to safely partake in communion only three times. After conversations about her experience, we decided to create resources for worshiping communities to raise awareness about celiac disease, and to advocate for creating safe communion spaces. “Open Table” is a meditation on what a more open, abundant table might look and feel like. Download includes an informational PDF about celiac disease and creating a celiac safe communion environment.
